Ticketmaster Hot Matchup: Former Gopher Teammates Square Off

Two former University of Minnesota Golden Gopher standouts will reunite on Thursday night in Tennessee, as WR Isaac Fruechte and the Vikings head to Nashville to take on RB David Cobb and the Titans. This college reunion is the subject of this week's Ticketmaster Hot Matchup.

Fruechte, a native of Caledonia, Minnesota, played for the Gophers from 2012-14 and was teammates with Cobb, a Killeen, Texas native, for those three seasons. Together, Fruechte and Cobb helped a Golden Gophers program that went 22-17 and appear in three bowl games from 2012-14. Fruechte joined the Vikings as an undrafted free agent while Cobb was selected in the fifth round (No. 138) by the Titans.

In three seasons with the Gophers, Fruechte recorded 50 receptions for 702 yards and two touchdowns. Cobb didn't carry the ball much in his first two seasons, but in his final two seasons he was the heart and soul of the Gophers offense. He finished his career with 561 carries for 2,980 yards and 20 touchdowns, including 1,675 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior; he also added 33 receptions for 336 yards.
