Social Media Spotlight: Vikings Bye Week Activities

The Minnesota Vikings took the bye during Week 5 to rest up and prepare for this week's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Check out where some of the players spent their time off the field in this week's social media spotlight.

Wide reciever Charles Johnson returned home to watch some family play high school football.

Punter Jeff Locke and longspapper Kevin McDermott were in the house when the United States Men's National Soccer Team took on Mexico in the 2015 CONCAF Cup in Pasadena, California.

Vikings veteran defensive end Brian Robison was gone fishing this off week and seemed to have some success according to his instagram account.

Fishing this week was just absolutely ridiculous!!! I mean if someone told me the story I have from this week I would think they were lying! I'm very happy that I could share this experience with @skeeter_fowler_lake_fork_guide and his son Austyn! Special thanks to @jeremiah_johnson_fishing for helping me out this week and taking Austyn on his boat this week and showing him a great time. My buddies had never fished for smallmouth before and now they're "Hooked". The @strikekinglurecompany finesse jigs w/ Rage craw trailers really got it done this week! We also caught them on Rage bugs Texas rigged. Really wish my dad was here for this experience!!! This may be one of my last fishing trips for the year because it's all about football so I need to mention some people that have been very important to my fishing trips this year @rigidindustriesofficial for all the lights on my truck and boat. @brpevinrude for my boat motor. @jlmarinesystems for allowing me to anchor down in shallow water. @rangerboats for the best ride I can get. @dobynsrods for allowing me to have confidence in every hook set with quality rods. @g2gemini_jerseys for helping me look good at tournaments and appearances. #gammaline for having the most durable, easy to maintain line on the market. @strikekinglurecompany for allowing me to have this best, most complete lineup of baits in my boat. @stormrusa for helping me stay dry and comfortable in the elements. @gopro #gopro for allowing me to capture every second I'm on the water. @lews_fishing for having the best reels on the market for all applications at a great price point! @lucasoilproducts for helping me keep my boat and truck clean and running great. @trokarhooks for making the sharpest most dependable hooks on the planet. @lowrancefishing for helping me navigate with ease and find those fish when I can't see them! @charliesworms for having my boat loaded with soft plastics @bassutopia for being great friends and taking me out some as well this year and sharing tips to make me better on the water. @chickofsteele for helping me everyday and being a great friend. Last but not least @mrsrobison96 & my family for their support at all times!!

Linebacker Eric Kendricks and tight end Kyle Rudolph seemed to enjoy the bye week, but it's safe to say they are ready to get back on the field when the Vikings host the Chiefs on Sunday.
