With the Vikings playing this season and next outdoors in the elements at TCF Bank Stadium, GM Rick Spielman and Head Coach Mike Zimmer thought it was important to practice outside as much as possible to get the team ready for gamedays. So, thanks to the support of Zygi and Mark Wilf, the organization purchased a state-of-the-art field heating system MacLeod Covers, a European-based company that specializes is providing these types of covers to sports teams around the globe.
The system was due to arrive in advance of when Minnesota typically gets its first substantial snowfall, but Mother Nature threw the state a curveball this November, which forced the Vikings inside for practice the last few weeks. However, the Vikings field crew has been working feverishly to get the cover installed, and they did just that over the weekend, which should allow the team to get outdoors sooner than later.
