All trades are pending physical exams by the acquiring team. P.J. Hall failed a physical with Minnesota and reverts back to the Las Vegas Raiders.

EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings traded an undisclosed 2021 draft pick for defensive tackle P.J. Hall, the team announced Monday.

The move comes less than a week after Vikings defensive tackle Michael Pierce chose to opt out of the 2020 season for health concerns. Pierce was signed in March to replace Linval Joseph.

Hall was a 2018 second-round pick (57th overall) of the Raiders, five spots ahead of Vikings tackle Brian O'Neill.

The 25-year-old Texas native, who is listed at 6-foot and 305 pounds, played in 30 games with 18 starts over the past two seasons for the Raiders, including in Week 3 at Minnesota last fall.

He has 48 career tackles with 1.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss and two passes defensed.

Hall starred at Sam Houston State, where he was a four-time FCS All-American and one of two players in school history to be named First-Team All-Southland Conference in four straight seasons.

He recorded 284 total tackles (160 solo), 86.5 tackles for loss, a school-record 42 sacks, nine forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one interception and a school-record 14 blocked kicks.

Hall will now be molded by Vikings Co-Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Line Coach Andre Patterson, whose track record includes elevating players such as Hall of Famer John Randle, Danielle Hunter and others.

Hall now joins a defensive tackles group that includes Shamar Stephen, Jaleel Johnson, Armon Watts, Jalyn Holmes, Hercules Mata'afa and rookies James Lynch and David Moa.
