Peterson No. 62 in NFLN's Top 100 for 2015

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was ranked 62 in NFL Network's *Top 100 Players of *2015 countdown, the network announced in a show that aired Wednesday night.

The annual ranking that is done to feed into a following season is determined by a vote taken among players across the league. The appearance by Peterson is the first by any Viking in the 2015 countdown.

Peterson ranked fourth in the players vote in 2014 and 11th in a tally by the fans and topped the list in 2013.

He ranks first in franchise history with 10,190 rushing yards and is third among active running backs, behind free agent Steven Jackson (11,388) and 11,073 by Frank Gore, who signed with Indianapolis during free agency after spending his first 10 seasons in San Francisco.

Peterson, who won the 2012 NFL MVP after posting a historic 2,097 yards in chasing the single-season record, played in the 2014 season opener and gained 75 yards, but missed the remainder of 2014.
