McKinnon, Sendejo Active for Vikings-Lions Showdown

MINNEAPOLIS –After missing last week's game due to injury, running back Jerick McKinnon and safety Andrew Sendejo are both listed as active for today's second consecutive division matchup.

The Vikings return home after nearly a month since their last game at U.S. Bank Stadium (Oct. 9) and will look to defeat the Lions in Minneapolis for the 17th time since 1998. In that time span, Detroit has won only twice in Vikings territory.

McKinnon currently leads the Vikings in rushing with 217 yards on 68 attempts. After being held from Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury, McKinnon was limited in practice Thursday and Friday.

His mindset all week, however, has been to be back on the field to help his team.

"All I'm really focused on is making a play for the team, creating a spark," McKinnon said Wednesday. "That's my main focus, to get back out there and make a play for the team.

"I'm excited about being back, and hopefully I can get something going," he added.

Sendejo will be a welcome addition to the Vikings secondary after being sidelined at Chicago with an ankle injury he suffered early in the Eagles game on Oct. 23.

Over six games, Sendejo has 33 tackles (20 solo), two passes broken up and two fumble recoveries. He also has a pair interceptions, which ties with cornerbacks Trae Waynes and Xavier Rhodes for the team lead.

The Vikings started Matt Asiata in place of McKinnon and Jayron Kearse in place of Sendejo against the Bears. Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer ended up using a rotation of Kearse and Anthony Harris in Sendejo's spot opposite Harrison Smith.

Minnesota's inactive players for today's game are as follows: linebacker Eric Kendricks, guard Alex Boone, tight ends MyCole Pruitt and David Morgan, wide receiver Jarius Wright, guard Zac Kerin and defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd.

Linebacker Audie Cole will step into the starting lineup for Kendricks, while Jeremiah Sirles will play for Boone. Sunday will mark Cole's first start of the 2016. It will Sirles' third start of the season, after filling in at right tackle against the Texans and at Philadelphia. On Sept. 25 at Carolina, Sirles subbed in at left guard when Boone was injured during the game.

Here is the list of Lions inactives:

CB Darius Slay

LB DeAndre Levy

RB Justin Forsett

TE Khari Lee

T Riley Reiff

G Joe Dahl
