Dalvin Cook Named NFC Offensive Player of the Week

Eagan, Minn. (December 19, 2018) – Vikings RB Dalvin Cook has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Miami Dolphins last week. Cook set a career-high in rushing yards with 136 while recording his first multi-touchdown game as a pro. The second-year running back showcased rushing touchdowns from 13 and 21 yards out.

The Miami, Florida native rushed a season-high 19 times with a 7.16-yards-per-rush average. Cook added a season-long 27-yard reception on the opening drive. Over the last three weeks, Cook's 6.7-yards-per-rush average is third in the NFL among qualifiers and he ranks sixth among all running backs in that span.

The Vikings ran for a season-high 220 yards in Week 15 with 3 rushing touchdowns. The team's highest rushing total (253) since Week 10 versus the Raiders in 2015. The 41-point outburst was a season-high for the club.

The 23-year old Cook has 503 rushing yards on 106 carries in 2018. The former Florida State Seminole has started 8 games this season. The second-round draft pick in the 2017 NFL Draft (#41 overall) has added 33 receptions for 249 yards and two receiving touchdowns on the season.

The NFC Player of the Week award is the first of Cook's career, and the 14th by a Viking player under Head Coach Mike Zimmer.
