Eden Prairie, MN (July 28, 2016) – As the Minnesota Vikings make their way to Mankato for the 2016 Vikings Training Camp, the organization will soon welcome another professional sports team to its Winter Park headquarters and training facility.

Over the last several days, the Winter Park outdoor fields have been converted to soccer pitches in preparation for Chelsea F.C.'s arrival on Sunday, July 31. The club will train for three days in Eden Prairie before its match against A.C. Milan on Wednesday, August 3, at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Earlier this week, Chelsea F.C. announced its roster for the 2016 International Cup will feature the club's top stars, including Diego Costa, John Terry, Eden Hazard and new signing N'Golo Kanté. Chelsea F.C. is led by new manager Antonio Conte, who is coming off the UEFA 2016 European Championship where he led the Italian national team to the quarterfinals.

As part of the club's participation in the 2016 International Champions Cup, Chelsea F.C. faced Premier League rival Liverpool F.C. on July 27 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena and will go up against Real Madrid C.F. at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor on July 30. The club will finish its tour against A.C. Milan on August 3 at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Currently more than 55,000 tickets have been sold for the inaugural sporting event at U.S. Bank Stadium, setting the contest up to break the all-time attendance record for soccer in Minnesota (current record was set in 1978 when 46,370 fans packed Metropolitan Stadium to watch the Minnesota Kicks play the New York Cosmos). Limited tickets are still available for the August 3 match at ticketmaster.com.
