Accomplishments:  Some highlights include: 11 Minnesota Percussion Association Winter Drumline Championships with Irondale and Eagan High Schools; 2 Winter Guard International World Class Finals appearances with Eagan High School.

Favorite Vikings Moment:  Randy Moss’ epic game against the Packers in ’98 on Monday Night.

In addition to his role as the Skol Line Head Instructor, Joel is the Program Coordinator and Percussion Arranger for the Minnesota Brass Drum and Bugle Corps.  During his tenure, the corps has placed as high as 2nd in the Drum Corps Associates World Championships and has won 2 percussion titles.  He has also served as the Director of Instrumental Music at Highland Park Senior High School in St. Paul for the past 12 years.

Additionally, Joel conducts 3 bands, an orchestra, 2 jazz bands and an involved music theory program and has taught marching percussion at many Minnesota high schools over the past 19 years. Also the arranger for the two time WGI Open Class finalist Drumline from MBI, Joel is a  sought after arranger, drill writer, clinician and adjudicator throughout the Upper Midwest, and an Alumni of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps.
