Entering his 2nd season on the Vikings staff in 2012, Cameron Turner brings a broad background of football experience to assist Leslie Frazier and his staff. Turner will assist the coaching staff with research projects, coordinating schedules and assisting in practice and game preparation.
Turner transitioned from his on-field playing days at The Citadel to the program’s coaching staff. Turner played QB and WR for the school from 2006-09 and coached the Bulldog WRs and assisted with special teams in 2010. Along with his coaching duties, Turner coordinated Citadel recruiting, served as team liaison with academic and military issues and coordinated all team community service projects. A 4-time Citadel Scholar Athlete, Turner earned a spot on the 2009 Southern Conference All-Academic Team. At The Citadel, Turner played for and coached alongside Head Coach Kevin Higgins, a former NFL position coach.

Turner’s own coaching roots have family ties. His father, Ron, is currently QBs coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and has previously served as Head Coach at the University of Illinois. His uncle, Norv, is Head Coach of the San Diego Chargers.
Turner and wife, Janie, reside in Eden Prairie.
