Woodbury High School Marching Royals to Perform at Halftime of Vikings-Browns Game

Posted Sep 17, 2013

The Woodbury High School Marching Royals have been selected to during halftime of the Vikings home opener against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. The Marching Royals, directed by Mr. Tark Katzenmeyer, will perform their 2013 fall field show, inspired by the music of Led Zeppelin, including the Vikings fan favorite, Immigrant Song.

"Mall of America Field has hosted many high school band competitions over the years and we haven’t had a high school band perform at halftime in quite some time," said Bryan Harper, Executive Producer, Vikings Entertainment Network. "With this being the final season at Mall of America Field, we felt it was a good opportunity to invite a high school band to perform. We are excited to host them."

The Marching Royals consist of 91 student musicians and performers. Over the summer, in addition to performing at the Minnesota State Fair, they marched in the Cottage Grove Strawberry Days Parade, the St. Paul Park Heritage Days Parade, and the Woodbury Days Grande Parade.
