This is a busy time in the Vikings offseason calendar, with Organized Team Activities (OTAs) set to begin next week and the team’s mandatory mini-camp on the horizon. But that isn’t slowing WR Greg Jennings. The team’s prized free agent signing is settling in nicely with his new team and has also continued to make a positive impact in the community, something he’s done every step of the way during his career.

Jennings and his wife, Nicole, are hosting the 2013 Greg Jennings Celebrity Golf Event, presented by Varnum LLP on June 7-8 at the Kalamazoo (MI) Country Club.  The funds raised will support the Greg Jennings Foundation, including programs such as the BE GREAT Youth Initiative.

"This is the sixth year of this event and we have become more successful every year because of the support we get from sponsors like presenting sponsor Varnum and our community," Jennings, the 2-time Pro Bowler and 1-time Super Bowl champion said. "I am expecting this to be our best Celebrity Golf Event yet. With the money raised, Nicole and I will be able to help a lot of kids and schools BE GREAT in our local communities."

Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona Cardinals), EJ Biggers (Washington Redskins), Chastin West (Detroit Lions) and other celebrities are slated to attend this celebrity event. The weekend kicks off on Friday, June 7 with a silent auction and cocktail reception.  On Saturday, June 8 the tournament will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a shotgun start at Kalamazoo Country Club.

The Greg Jennings Foundation raised over $220,000 from the Golf Event last year and was able to fund two new programs as part of the BE GREAT Youth Initiative; the BE GREAT After School program and the BE GREAT Challenge. The goal of the After School program is to assist current youth development programs in delivering high quality, learning-centered after-school programming. The BE GREAT Challenge will reward three schools in the greater Kalamazoo area by providing them with additional funds, classroom supplies, or equipment that they do not have currently.
