“He had a little tension in his knee,” Fraizer said. “We just wanted to get it done now rather than run into a situation where we get to [training] camp and it continued to bother him.”
Frazier went on to say that Greenway had some tenderness in the knee so the club opted to get an MRI done and the doctors felt some things needed to be cleaned up.
The eight-year veteran will miss the final two OTAs along with next week’s three-day mandatory minicamp but, as Frazier said, should be healed and ready to go come late July when the Vikings report to Mankato for Verizon Vikings Training Camp.
Greenway is coming off arguably his top season as a pro. He registered 148 combined tackles, three sacks, four passes defended and his fifth career interception.
