The Vikings were this close to reaching division supremacy in 2012, and in the early parts of 2013 the front office is maneuvering swiftly and wisely to eliminate that margin.
To make their latest move in that effort, the Vikings didn’t have to look very far.
On Friday the Vikings signed one of the NFC North’s premier playmakers over the past 7 seasons to give their passing game a boost. Greg Jennings, a productive pass-catcher for potent offenses in Green Bay, has decided to trade his green and gold for purple and gold. The move was one met with excitement by a Vikings fan base that is eager for the team to continue improving its passing game and tired of seeing Jennings score against them.
Since he was selected in the 2nd round by the Green Bay Packers in 2006, Jennings has been a thorn in the Vikings side. In 15 games against the Purple, Jennings has hauled in 68 receptions for 1,018 yards and 10 TDs. During Jennings’ tenure in Green Bay, the Packers have an 11-4 record against the Vikings. But now Jennings will go from a thorn in the Vikings side to an ace in their deck. His combination of experience and production will go a long way in a collection of pass catchers that features young up-and-comers such as TE
