Warm Weather Alters This Weekend's Polaris Vikings Winterfest Schedule

Due to warm weather and unsafe ice conditions on Prior Lake, changes have been made to this weekend’s Polaris Vikings Winterfest in Prior Lake, MN.

Specifically, the Coors Light Ice Fishing Contest set for Saturday, February 18, has been canceled, while the Winterfest Ice Village on Saturday afternoon has been moved from Charlie’s on Prior to Lakefront Park and will begin at 4:00 p.m. The vast majority of elements during the three-day, family-friendly event that includes appearances by current and former Vikings players, Vikings cheerleaders and Viktor remain in place. Thursday, February 16

Vikings Country Presented by Miller Lite Broadcast – The festivities are expected to kickoff Thursday at the Prior Lake VFW with a live KFAN broadcast of Vikings Country Presented by Miller Lite, hosted by K102’s Mike Mussman, along with appearances from Vikings Legends and cheerleaders, from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.

SKOL ‘N Stroll – Vikings fans can meet Vikings Legends and win team prizes while shopping downtown Prior Lake stores and restaurants from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Friday, February 17

Power Trip Morning Show – Friday morning will begin at the Pointe Grill and Bar with a live KFAN broadcast of the Power Trip Morning Show from 5:30 - 9:00 a.m.

Paul Allen’s 9-Noon Show – Vikings play-by-play announcer Paul Allen will be joined by Vikings guest, including Offensive Coordinator Pat Shurmur, at the Pointe Grill and Bar during a live broadcast of his 9:00 – Noon show.

Prior Lake School Visits – Vikings cheerleaders and Viktor will make special appearances at the Prior Lake schools throughout the day.

Prior Lake Chamber Luncheon – Beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the Mystic Lake Grand Ballroom, Vikings Offensive Coordinator Pat Shurmur and Vikings executives will host a luncheon and Q&A for the local business community.

Vikings Player Appearances – CJ Ham, Charles Johnson, Zach Line, Captain Munnerlyn and Adam Thielen will all be signing at two locations in Prior Lake throughout the afternoon.

Vikings Rock Winterfest Concert The evening will conclude in the Mystic Showroom with a “Vikings Rock Winterfest” concert presented by Miller Lite and featuring the popular rock ‘n roll cover band “Hairball.” Tickets for the show, which will begin at 7:30 p.m., can be purchased by phone at 952.496.6563, online at or in person at the Mystic Box Office. All proceeds from the concert will benefit Prior Lake 501 (c)(3) organizations through the Prior Lake Chamber of Commerce.

Saturday, February 18

Pancake Breakfast – From 8:30 a.m. - Noon, Vikings current players and Legends will serve pancakes prepared by Vikings Head Chef Geji McKinney-Banks at the Prior Lake VFW. A limited number of tickets are available for $10 and can be purchased at the Prior Lake VFW prior to the event and at the door on Saturday. All proceeds will benefit Prior Lake 501 (c)(3) organizations through the Prior Lake Chamber of Commerce.

Youth Football Clinics – From 10:00 a.m.-Noon, former Vikings LB E.J. Henderson and current Vikings players will host a football skills clinic for ages 6-12 at Twin Oaks Middle School.

Polar Plunge – At Noon, the Vikings will join Special Olympics and the City of Prior Lake for their Polar Plunge on Sand Point Beach.

Winterfest Ice Village – From 4:00 - 10:00 p.m. at Lakefront Park, fans can enjoy bean bag toss games, photo opportunities and appearances by Vikings Legends and cheerleaders. Miller Lite will host an Ice Bar and an Ice Concert featuring live music from Tripwire from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. and Chris Hawkey from 8:00 - 10:00 p.m. The festivities will conclude with fireworks at 10:00 p.m. There will be no parking available at Lakefront Park during the Winterfest Ice Village. Shuttles to and from Lakefront Park will run between 3:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Shuttle locations are Dakotah Ice Center, Prior Lake VFW, Prior Lake/Savage School District Offices, The Pointe Bar and Grille and Twin Oaks Middle School.
