Vikings To Host Jacksonville Jaguars for Joint Training Camp Practices

Posted May 17, 2018

EAGAN, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars announced Thursday that the teams will hold joint practices at Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center in August before meeting in a preseason game.

The Vikings and Jaguars will practice together Wednesday, Aug. 15, and Thursday, Aug. 16, in Eagan. Both sessions will be open to the public.

The teams are scheduled to play a preseason game at noon (CT) on Saturday, Aug. 18, at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The Vikings training camp ticket policy announced last month will be in effect for the joint sessions, as reserved tickets will be required to access camp practices. The free general admission tickets will be available via Vikings.com in June.

The requirement of reserved tickets is based on an expected high demand for access to the sparkling site as it hosts its first training camp just four-plus months after opening. The team intends to provide Season Ticket Members with an opportunity to reserve their tickets prior to the general public, but details on the maximum number of tickets and maximum number of days are still being determined.

While multiple camp details are still in the planning process, including a maximum capacity to ensure the best fan experience, the Vikings estimate a capacity of approximately 5,000 fans, will be able to attend daily, with a possible expansion for night practices.

Minnesota and Jacksonville are coming off appearances in their respective conference championship games, and each team features a stout defense.

The Vikings went 13-3 and won the NFC North in 2017 behind a defense that allowed a league-best 15.8 points per game and 275.9 yards per game.

Jacksonville’s defense ranked second in points allowed (16.8) and yards allowed (286.1) per game.

The teams last met in Week 14 of the 2016 season when the Vikings claimed a 25-16 win in Jacksonville.
