Vikings Sign Javon Walker

Eden Prairie, MN (August 24, 2010) – The Vikings have signed veteran WR Javon Walker, it was announced today.

Walker, entering his 9th year in the NFL, has played in 83 career games, including 46 starts, over the last 8 seasons. Originally selected by the Green Bay Packers in the 1st round (#20) of the 2002 NFL Draft, Walker spent his first 4 years in Green Bay. He had his most productive season in 2004, catching 89 passes for 1,382 yards (15.5 avg.) and 12 TDs from former Packers and current Vikings QB Brett Favre and earning Pro Bowl honors following that season.

For his career, Walker has 267 receptions for 4,011 yards and 31 TDs. Of his 31 receiving TDs, 20 were thrown by Favre. Walker has played in 4 career playoff games, two of which he had over 100 yards receiving.
