On the heels of last weekend’s rookie minicamp, the Vikings have signed two players that participated in the camp as veteran tryouts: linebackers Mike Zimmer and Dom DeCicco.

To make room on the roster, the club has waived QB Travis Partridge and G Conor Boffeli.

DeCicco (dah-see-co) signs with the Vikings as a free agent after spending time with the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. An undrafted free agent in 2011, DeCicco signed with the Bears after finishing his collegiate career at Pittsburgh. DeCicco appeared in 20 games with the Bears during the 2011-12 seasons and recorded 12 special teams tackles. He spent the 2013 training camp with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, appearing in 3 preseason games.

Zimmer joins the Vikings after spending the 2013 training camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Zimmer signed with Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois State and appeared in 4 preseason games with the Jaguars in 2013, recording 1 tackle. Zimmer earned 1st-Team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors after finishing with 127 tackles as a senior.
