24/7 Stadium Watch

The Vikings have engaged EarthCam to provide a live webcam of new stadium construction until opening day in 2016. Up to three cameras, each with different angles of the construction site, will be installed prior to the Vikings final game at Mall of America Field on December 29. With the cameras in place, fans will have an opportunity to view the progress on vikings.com 24 hours a day, seven days a week. College Football Playoff Championship Update

After narrowing a list of finalist cities that included Minneapolis-St. Paul, BCS representatives announced earlier this week that Arizona and Tampa will host the 2016 and 2017 College Football Playoff championships, respectively. While this market was not selected, BCS reps provided positive feedback about the new stadium, the Minneapolis-St. Paul region and its hospitality community. Because of that, we believe the new Vikings stadium will host the College Football Playoff championship in the future, and the team will continue to support bids to bring these major events to Minnesota.

What about TCF Bank Stadium?

As we approach the 2014 offseason, the Vikings are focusing on assembling a fair policy that allocates Season Ticket Owners with seat locations as consistent as possible with their Mall of America Field seat locations. While the seating configurations between the two stadiums are very unique and seating is not easily transferable, the team is developing a straightforward and equitable system that ensures Vikings Season Ticket Owners will have priority at both TCF Bank Stadium and at the new Vikings stadium in 2016. Those plans will be distributed to fans in early January 2014.
