MVC at the Pro Bowl

Posted Feb 13, 2013

My experience at Pro Bowl was amazing. I had the time of my life! I met 25 incredible women who were nothing short of remarkable, along with inspirational directors and choreographers that impacted my life forever.

There isn’t just one amazing part about the week, it is the collaboration of the entire experience. From shooting the “famous” picture on the rocks of the Hitlon Hawaiian Village, the countless hours spent rehearsing to the children’s hospital visits to the official NFL welcome party luau to bonding with my new PBC teammates. The entire week was nonetheless extraordinary. To top it off I got to spend my golden birthday, January 25, on the set of Hawaii 5.0 acting as an “extra” with 3 other PBC’s. I was also surprised with a birthday cake, balloons and birthday song during dinner from my PBC sisters and directors.

A big highlight of the week was obviously, Game Day! One of my favorite memories was the pregame show. I have always dreamed of dancing live with a big name band, so performing with Train was an experience I will never forget. Although it was a dream come true, it was bittersweet knowing this was my last game as an NFL cheerleader. Other highlights included performing all throughout Aloha Stadium with my small team, NFC 2 – Vanessa (Cardinals), Michelle (Rams), Tecoya (Redskins), Lauren (Buccaneers) and Heidi (Seahawks). One of our most memorable performances was performing with DJ Steve Aoki on a high-rise stage in the stands. Throughout the entire game, my eyes lit up every time I spotted a Vikings Jersey…and there were a lot! The best part of the entire game was wearing “Baby Helga,” our signature costume, and knowing I had a piece of each one of my teammates back at home with me. I have never been more proud to wear our uniform!

Our 2013 PBC motto was to “chase joy” and I will continue to live by this for the rest of my life. The day I was announced as the 2013 MVC Pro Bowl Cheerleader, November 5, 2012, marked one of the best days of my life. The entire experience was a dream come true and an experience I will cherish forever. I am beyond thankful and honored to have had the opportunity to represent at the 2013 Pro Bowl.
