On Friday night, February 17, we celebrated a fantastic season as Minnesota Viking Cheerleaders at our MVC Banquet. Bearpath Golf and Country Club graciously hosted nearly 100 guests made up of all of the MVC, Coaches, and Staff for the official MVC Banquet. This was a wonderful event focused on celebrating another successful year and giving some special recognition to people who made this year such a success.
The first hour of our banquet was our social hour. This was filled with hugs and many conversations of catching up with one another. We are used to seeing each other multiple times a week so needless to say, there was a lot of catching up to be had.
After the social hour we enjoyed a lovely meal as a team while we watched highlights of our season, put together by our talented videographers, Ted and Chad. While dinner and dessert wrapped up, we took time to recognize the MVC Staff, Coaches, Captains and our Pro Bowl Cheerleader. This was done through speeches where a teammate would share kind words, power point presentations, pictures, and even songs. It was great to hear everyone be recognized for all of their hard work and then it was the captains turn to stand in front of everyone and share how amazing each of their small teams are. Once the captains had the chance to recognize their teammates, some if the MVC Staff made a speech to recognize our incredible MVC Coaches.
We ended our evening with the presentation of our 2016 season awards. An award that I thought stood out was for who sold the most MVC Calendars. It was noted that this year was the largest calendar sale to date, with 12 of our teammates selling over 200 calendars. Jordan sold the most this season with 500 and Kayla C came in second with 419 sold. This is outstanding and I am very proud of both of them and the work they put in to this. Way to go ladies!
Another award I though was worth noting was the Most Appearance Hour Award. This award went to two of my teammates, both who spend a lot of their time in the community. Evan was recognized for 102 hours of service and Hannah with 110 hours of service. You two are incredible!
