Hello Vikings Fans! I had the huge honor of representing the MVC at the 2010 NFL Pro Bowl in South Florida. I have to admit that it has been a dream of mine to represent the MVC at the Pro Bowl since I was first named to the team six seasons ago. At the December 13th game against the Cincinnati Bengals, that dream became reality, as I was named the 2009 MVC Pro Bowl representative after our 3rd Quarter Break performance. I am lucky because Sarah, the 2009 Pro Bowl representative, is still an MVC so I was able to ask her for advice on how to prepare. Once all my preparations were done, I showed the new choreography and costumes from The Line Up to the current MVC as well as the Pro Bowl representatives from prior years. It was so much fun to preview some of the new dances to the team J
On January 25th I boarded a plane, and embarked on one of the biggest adventures of life! I thought I would share with you some of my favorite memories from each day:
·Monday-
o I don’t think I’ve ever woken up more excited in my life! I arrived at the hotel in Fort Lauderdale, and met my fellow 2010 PBC (Pro Bowl Cheerleaders) from around the NFL. All the PBC met for dinner, and were welcomed by the Miami Dolphins staff.
·Tuesday-
oWe had our very first team practice within our team lines. My line was the NFC 2, which consisted of the following ladies: Tramane (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), Amy (Arizona Cardinals), Shannon (St. Louis Rams) Philadelphia Eagles (Lauren), and Amanda (Seattle Seahawks). It was great to review the dances, and then we were off to our photo shoot at the beautiful Mandarin Oriental hotel. Afterward, we met up for dinner at Larios, Gloria Estefan’s restaurant!
·Wednesday
oWe had our second practice, and I was voted team captain of the NFC 2! This was our community day, so we performed at a few local community event centers.
oAfter our community events, we attended a welcome dinner and had a quick evening practice.
·Thursday
oEveryone was off to a few more appearances on the morning of January 28th! It was so great to meet so many fans of the NFL, and everyone I met seemed to have such a great opinion of the Vikings!
oAfter our appearances, we walked and performed in fashion show at the W Hotel in Miami, Florida. It was an absolute blast, and much like the MVC semi-final pageant that is part of our audition process.
·Friday
oWe drilled our routines, and then the majority of the PBC were off to the Battle of the Beauties event. I had a great time teaching a fun hip-hop routine to the participants in the NFL Japan Cheerleading program, where I got to practice my Japanese J
·Saturday
oWe had our first practice open at Lockhart Stadium! There were so many Vikings fans in attendance, and it was great to perform outside in the Florida sun.
·Sunday
oThis was my last official day, but it was the most exciting because it was the day of the 2010 Pro Bowl! The game itself was an absolute blast, and it was also a little bittersweet as everyone realized that they soon had to say goodbye to their fellow PBC!
Thanks to the entire MVC family for their faith, trust, and support throughout my Pro Bowl journey. I feel so blessed to be your 2010 Pro Bowl Representative!
Go Vikes!
