Every year the MVC do hundreds of charity appearances that affect the community in a positive way. The past few months the MVC have been especially busy with appearances, doing anything from the Special Olympics to elementary school Christmas parties. One of my favorite events was the, Step Out: Walk to End Diabetes appearance. The MVC and the Allstars participated in the event. Although it was a little cold, it was such an inspiration to be a part of something that made such a difference. We cheered on all of the participants and got to speak with some of the people that have been affected by the charity.
Another one of my favorite events was the Football Special Olympics. We were able to watch a few different games and chat with the families and athletes. The athletes were happy to see us but not as happy as we were when we found out the majority of athletes were “die-hard” Vikings fans. The day consisted of singing SKOL with the athletes, learning cheers from their own cheerleaders, and making memories I won’t forget. I walked away at the end of the day feeling so blessed to get the chance to participate in these events and meet these amazing people.
