On his trip to the Emergency Room following the end of the season and the possibility that he may have needed surgery following an arm injury:
“I got in trouble for saying that. It was just a little scare a couple of weeks after the season was done, [arm] swelled up on me, was afraid whether it was going to be a problem. Went to the ER; I think they overreacted a little bit and everything ended up working out, and I was OK.”
On Vikings OTAs:
“Things are going really well, it’s a good start for us. We just finished our second one today. We have a lot of the guys here; 99 percent of the guys are here putting the work in. This is the start of the 2013 season for us so we’re excited to be out here and getting better every day. We have a young group and we’re looking forward to coming together as a team and getting started for Week 1 in Detroit.”

“Greg is a guy that we saw every year for a couple of games against us and he was always making plays, catching touchdowns. It was important for us to get him; we got him and he’s a great player, but he’s also a great leader. He brings a lot to this team and we’re excited to have him. Cordarrelle is a guy that is extremely explosive. He’s a young guy, he’s going to learn a lot from Greg and some of the other veteran guys we have on this team, and he’s going to be a weapon that we’re definitely going to use all season.”
On areas of his game that he feels he needs to improve upon heading into the upcoming season:
“There are a ton of things I need to get better at. We won’t go into details, but I think with every player in the league they have a list of things that they want to work on. I know the few things that I have to work on and get better at. You always want to focus on your weaknesses but also you have to get better at your strengths as well. Put in the work, this is the time to do it and try to get better at a lot of things.”
On his vocal leadership:
“It’s something I can work on. As I get more comfortable as the years go on and I get more experience with this team and grow older, that vocal leadership will pick up. It’s something I’ll continue to try to get better at and be louder with this team, and bring everyone together.”
On if he feels he has earned the right to be the vocal leader on the Vikings:
“The good thing is these veterans that we have on offense at least, everyone leads together. Between Adrian [Peterson], ![]()

On how confident the Vikings are they can win the NFC North:
“It is tough. We know that we have a great team and we have a lot of talent, but the thing is we have to put in a lot of work and the ball has to bounce a few times during the season. You have to win the close games and we’ll see. We’ll see how it plays out, but we are excited [about] the possibilities of what we have on this team.”
