Minnesota Vikings 2022 Full Schedule

ViewSchedule_2560x1440

EAGAN, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings 62nd season in the NFL will begin and end within the division with a Week 1 home game against Green Bay and a Week 18 contest at Chicago.

The Vikings will open a season against the Packers for the second time in three seasons, but a livelier atmosphere is anticipated than in 2020 when U.S. Bank Stadium was eerily silent without fans because of COVID-19 restrictions.

Kickoff for the 2022 opener is scheduled for 3:25 p.m. (CT) on Sept. 11.

Fans have almost set their watches to closing campaigns against the Bears, having seen the teams face off in Minnesota to end six of the past eight seasons. A new twist this year will involve the Vikings playing at Soldier Field in their road finale for the first time since 2009.

The time and date of the Week 18 game is to be determined. It could be scheduled for Jan. 7 or 8, 2023.

It will be one week after Minnesota visits Green Bay for a New Year's Day game that is scheduled to start at 3:25 p.m. (CT).

In between, Minnesota will host a Thanksgiving game for the first time in franchise history when the New England Patriots visit on Nov. 24, just five days after the Vikings host the Dallas Cowboys.

After opening a season at home for the fifth time in U.S. Bank Stadium's seven seasons, the Vikings will face the Eagles in Philadelphia in a Monday Night Football game that will air on ABC as part of a side-by-side” doubleheader.

Minnesota will quickly close out its home division slate by hosting the Detroit Lions in Week 3 and the Chicago Bears in Week 5. Those NFC North contests will bookend the Week 4 Vikings-Saints game in London as part of this season's International Series.

This will be just the second time under the current divisions created in 2002 for the Vikings to host all three NFC North opponents before visiting one. The other time was in 2006, although Minnesota did complete its road slate in the division before hosting Chicago, Detroit or Green Bay in 2019.

The Vikings will play in Miami for the first time since 2014 in Week 6 before a Week 7 bye. Dalvin Cook, who had two rushing touchdowns against the Dolphins in 2018, will play an NFL game in his hometown for the first time.

After that, Minnesota will host Arizona on Oct. 30 and try to preserve the Vikings 10-game home winning streak against the Cardinals, which started in 1991.

The Vikings will face the Washington Commanders in Week 9, marking Kirk Cousins' first trip back to the locale where he played his first six pro seasons, and follow with a trip to Buffalo in Week 10.

The Cowboys will visit Minnesota for the third consecutive season after notching close wins in each of their past two trips.

The Vikings will host the Patriots in Week 12 on Thanksgiving and conclude a three-game home stand in Week 13 by hosting the New York Jets for the first time since Dec. 7, 2014.

Minnesota will visit Detroit in Week 14 before back-to-back home games against the Colts and Giants and consecutive roadies at Green Bay and Chicago. The Colts game time and date is to be determined, and the Giants contest is scheduled for noon (CT) on Christmas Eve.

The NFL's preseason schedule – now three games instead of the previous four – has also been set.

The Vikings are scheduled to open the exhibition slate at Las Vegas, then host the 49ers at U.S. Bank Stadium. They'll round out the preseason by traveling to Denver to face the Broncos on Saturday, Aug. 27 at 8:00 p.m. CT.

Dates and times of the other two preseason games are yet to be determined.
