Quote: “A healthy planet is everyone’s business”

Place I’ve traveled and why: This spring I traveled with my dad to the Galapagos Islands off the coast of Ecuador for our “bucket list” trip. We spent 10 days on a catamaran and went hiking and snorkeling every day (that’s my kind of vacation!). It was surreal swimming with sea lions, sea turtles, hammerhead sharks, and giant manta rays.

Charity and why: The Humane Society of the United States is my favorite charity because of the amazing work they do to protect animals in many respects. They not only aid animals in crisis, but also work to improve animal welfare laws and enforcement. I’m actually an HSUS certified animal rescue volunteer that can be called in to help for rescues that happen here in Minnesota!

My dream job: To operate a non-profit animal rescue & sanctuary.

On the top of my bucket list is: Backpack through Southeast Asia with my husband-to-be (we’re getting married this November!) and also dive the Great Barrier Reef.

My hero: My hero is my mother because she is such a positive, radiant light both in the air and on the ground (she inspired me to be a flight attendant like herself). She’s the most loving, loyal and adventurous woman I know. My mom has taught me to never settle and to remember that every stranger has a story. I strive to be gracious and kind, as she has set the most remarkable example of embodying both of those qualities.

Name an inspiring/influential woman in your life: Other than my mom (see above^^), Jane Goodall has influenced my interest in environmentalism and animal welfare. Her career as a scientist and activist paved the road for female interest in science-related careers and conservation.

How do you define empowered? To me, being empowered is having a sense of confidence in what you are doing. When your actions align with your intrinsic values, that is when you are truly empowered.

Where do you see yourself in five years? In five years, I see myself as a proud wife of an Air Force Pararescueman, having started a non-profit within the airline industry, owning lots of dogs and cats, and possibly going back to school to get a graduate degree in Marine Science.

Where are you in your family line up? I am an only child. I found myself wanting a sibling to play with when I was really young, but once I turned ten my mom adopted a dog for our family and I became perfectly content with being an only child. :)

What was your favorite subject in school? My favorite subject was math! It was something that came naturally and I loved that there was an exact formula to find answers (creativity was not my strong suit). I also loved theatre and spent four years in the high school drama department performing in many musicals.

Do you have any pets? Yes, I adopted a black cat from a shelter in St. Paul last September. I named him Binx after one of my favorite childhood movies Hocus Pocus.

What is your favorite workout tip? Stretching is an important aspect of working out, so be sure not to skip it!

My best beauty secret is: Stay hydrated! It will keep your skin glowing. When you need a kick start, or simply want to give your face some extra love, go get a HydraFacial at Expressions MD. They are fabulous!

Why did you decide to audition to become an MVC? I moved to Minnesota for my airline career, but have always had a passion for football and performing. I’ve embraced all aspects of my new life in Minnesota, and a huge part of that has become Vikings football. I knew being an MVC would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I went after my long-term goal of becoming an NFL cheerleader by showing up to that first year of auditions not knowing a soul! I feel so blessed that my dreams have become a reality and that I get to call these inspiring women my teammates.

What is your favorite memory as an MVC? My favorite memory is the home opener last season when we beat the Packers! It was my first ever Vikings game (other than preseason) and the energy and volume of the crowd was something out of this world! I also loved visiting Morris, MN this spring to help celebrate the local high school in winning Minnesota’s Football Program of the Year. I felt so welcomed and humbled by everyone in Morris. Being from a big city, seeing the Vikings spirit of a small town was something truly unique and special to me.

Most valued lesson learned as an MVC: Take it all in, because the year goes way too fast!
