Kevin McCabe enters his 7th season in 2008 with the Minnesota Vikings as an Area Scout, working in the Western region of the country.McCabe came to the Vikings after working with the St. Louis Rams as an area scout for 7 years (1995-2001) and volunteering with the Rams personnel department in 1994. During his tenure with the Rams, the team became known as one of the most potent offensive attacks in the NFL. In 1999 the Rams went 13-3 in the regular season and won Super Bowl XXXIV over Tennessee following a 4-12 campaign in 1998. In 2001, St. Louis posted a 14-2 regular season mark and lost Super Bowl XXXVI to New England in one of the most exciting Super Bowls in League history. In his final three seasons with St. Louis, the Rams amassed a 37-11 regular-season record, won the NFC West title twice (1999, 2001) and finished as the Division runner-up in 2000.McCabe began his career in 1985 as an assistant coach at his alma mater, John Muir High School in Pasadena, CA. McCabe coached on the prep level in the Los Angeles area until becoming strength and conditioning coordinator and assistant football coach at Pomona-Pitzer College in Claremont, CA. He stayed at the school from 1991-94. In 1993 McCabe coached overseas for the East City Giants in Helsinki, Finland.McCabe (3/23/63) is a native of Pasadena and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1985 from Princeton University, where he was a three-year letterman for the Tiger football team. Kevin and his wife, Anne, have sons, Torin and Keenan, and a daughter, Kate. The family resides in Woodland, CA.
