In 2008, Jeff Robinson enters his 19th season with the Minnesota Vikings and serves as a Pro Scout. Robinson assists the personnel department with league-wide player evaluation and preparing scouting reports on upcoming opponents.After joining the Vikings as a public relations intern in 1990, Robinson worked two seasons (1991-92) as a public relations assistant and three years (1993-95) as operations assistant. He moved into the scouting department in June 1996.In 1989-90 Robinson was an assistant coach at North High School in Minneapolis.A three-year starter at cornerback at Northwestern, Robinson served as a team captain and was selected honorable- mention All-Big Ten as a senior in 1988. In the Wildcats’ 28-10 win over Illinois (11/21) in ’87, he returned an interception 73 yards for a touchdown, which at the time was the 7th longest interception return in school history and the longest interception return by a Northwestern player since ’63. As a starter in all 11 games at right cornerback as a sophomore, Robinson helped the Wildcats post their best record (4-7) since 1973. Northwestern also tied a school record for takeaways with 31 in ’86. He was recruited by and played as a freshman for former Vikings and current Arizona Cardinals Head Coach Dennis Green.A native of Minneapolis, Robinson (4/16/67) was an honorable-mention All-America and a two-time All- Minneapolis Conference selection at North High School. He also was a 2-time All-State pick in track and an All-City choice in basketball. A member of the National Honor Society in high school, Robinson was recognized by the Minneapolis Public School Athletic Department in ’88. Named one of the Outstanding College Students of America, Robinson earned a degree in organizational studies/business management at Northwestern. Since ’91 he has served on the board of directors of the North Community YMCA. In 1995 and 1996 he hosted a college prep basketball camp for the top 30 varsity players in the Twin Cities. For the last seven years Robinson has hosted the "Jeff Robinson Football Camp". He and his wife Cassandra have two daughters, Jassandra, Jaila and a son, Jeffrey II "Deuce" and live in Shakopee.
