Professional Biography

Entering her second season with the Vikings, Kimberly Fields brings a strong background from the NFL’s headquarters to the team as Director of Civic and Business Affairs. Fields will work on civic, business and ownership initiatives for the Vikings and provide support for all departments in the organization on civic and business affairs.

Fields comes to Minnesota after spending six years at the NFL, most recently as the Manager of Events Business Development. Fields was responsible for enhancing opportunities for local women and minority-owned businesses to participate in the production of the Super Bowl and the Pro Bowl. Fields oversaw the sanctioned event process and assisted with the management of the Super Bowl bid process and the special events’ strategic plan.

Prior to working in the Events department, Fields was the Manager of Career Transition Programs within the Player and Employee Development Department. In that role, she was responsible for providing assistance to NFL players in all aspects of continuing education, degree completion, graduate school preparation, life skills program and personal development through career counseling.

Prior to joining the NFL offices, Fields served as Community Relations/Fan Development Coordinator for the WNBA. Her first exposure to the sports field came as an intern at the Women’s Sports Foundation in Long Island, NY, and followed that with an internship with the NFL Player and Employee Development Department.

Fields earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in systems engineering at the University of Virginia where she competed in track and field for the Cavaliers. Fields began her professional career as a technical marketing representative at IBM before returning to UVA to earn her graduate degree and gained exposure to academic counseling as an intern with the Department of Athletics and the Dean of Students office.

A native of Richmond, VA, Fields attended Lee-Davis High School.
