The Minnesota Vikings have announced that tailgating will return to downtown Minneapolis, with lots located just a Ryan Longwell chip-shot field goal away from the Metrodome. The return of tailgating near the Metrodome will provide Vikings fans with a crucial component to the game day atmosphere.

The Vikings Purple and Gold tailgate lots were recently purchased by Vikings owner Zygi Wilf and are located just three blocks northwest of the Metrodome. Many tailgating amenities, including visits from the Vikings cheerleaders, the Vikings Street Team and other special guests, will make this tailgating experience the best ever offered by the Vikings.

Recently, Vikings fans were able to tailgate at the Rapid Park area where construction has now begun on the new Twins stadium. The new area for tailgating is the first on-site tailgating option the Vikings have provided for fans since they began playing in the Metrodome in 1982.

Easily accessible restrooms, garbage cans and charcoal bins are other amenities included in the new tailgating option. A total of 1,100 spaces are available for tailgating in the four lots and season passes are $280. Single-game passes and day-of-game parking will also be available for $40.
