The Minnesota Vikings will distribute complimentary 24x36 inch posters of 2007 Rookie of the Year RB Adrian Peterson to all fans as they depart the Metrodome following the Vikings- Steelers preseason game on Saturday, August 23.
The image, which was taken from an original painting by St. Paul native artist Robert Blehert, features Peterson breaking free for a touchdown.
“Adrian Peterson demonstrates not only great athleticism, but such a joy in what he does, that it’s nearly impossible not to feel happy watching him,” Blehert said. “I tried to capture some of those elements in the painting titled, ‘Breaking Free.’”
Blehert’s work has also been featured on a Twins poster of Johan Santana two seasons ago, and his painting of Minnesota legend Herb Brooks is now being used to help raise funds for the Herb Brooks Foundation. The artist’s work can be found in the Field of Dreams Store in the Mall of America or at robertblehert.com.
