This year's Annual Alumni Social was a huge success! It was organized by Anne Sumangil, Vice President of Special Events for the MVC Alumni Executive Committee and was held on Saturday, March 8 at Stella's Fish Café in Uptown. With 65 attendees we had an increase of 15 people from last year (up 30%!) and saw a number of new faces! Alumni were able to purchase their old uniforms, there was a fabulous raffle organized by Tami Krause, and Executive Committee announcements were made including; the new electronic newsletter, the addition of alumni charity event participation in 2008, an update on the MVC Networking Resource Group know as NRG, and the new alumni website mvcalumni.com that is set to launch on March 31 this year!

Alumni enjoyed fabulous performances by the A* Team, the Training Program, and the 2007 MVC! The event continued to be packed full of excitement including the new Executive Committee member announcement for 2008 – 2009 and the induction of the Hall of Fame recipient this year, Heather Pilakowski. Heather received her award from last year's inductee, Julie Bjellos. We also celebrated Tami's 10 years of coaching the MVC with a signed picture frame from everyone who attended the social, and a gold watch presented by the Executive Committee to thank her for the time she has invested in the organization and in to each of the MVC who have been a part of the program. All of the alumni at the social then introduced themselves and shared a favorite memory or a thought for Tami on her huge accomplishment!

Part of our mission as alumni is to maintain the friendships our members established during their tenure with the MVC, and this annual social allows us to do just that! Going forward, in an effort to continue to have successful events and bring our alumni together, we have included the addition of our Alumni Ambassador program headed up by the Executive Committee Secretary, Allison Drusch. The goal of the new program is to increase alumni membership and participating at events utilizing eight ambassadors representing three football seasons. For example one ambassador will represent the 1984 - 1986 seasons and another will represent the 1987 - 1989 seasons. The Alumni Ambassadors were announced this year at the social and we can't wait to tell you about their successes at next year's annual social!
