Game Summary

The Minnesota Vikings (1-2) will close out the 2008 preseason against the Dallas Cowboys (1-2) this Thursday, August 28. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. (CT) at Texas Stadium.

This will be the 10th time Minnesota has met Dallas in the preseason, with the Vikings holding the overall edge 5-3-1. The last time the two teams faced off in preseason action was last year at the HHH Metrodome, a game the Vikings won 23-14. The fi rst game in Vikings history, a 38-13 preseason loss to the Cowboys, was at Sioux Falls, SD, on August 5, 1961.

The Vikings open the 2008 regular season on Monday Night Football at the Green Bay Packers on September 8 while the Cowboys begin at Cleveland on Sunday, September 7.

The Vikings defense has not allowed an offensive touchdown over the past seven quarters of the 2008 preseason, allowing only four fi eld goals during that time. The last touchdown Minnesota gave up was on the Baltimore Ravens opening drive in week two. Together Baltimore and Pittsburgh made a combined four trips inside the Vikings red zone and came away with 13 total points from those drives.
