This weekend the college football season is in full swing as all of the local college clubs in Viking Land are in action this weekend.
Some things might seems familiar as North Dakota taking on St. Cloud State but now these teams are in different conference and different football divisions all together. The North Central Conference may be defunct but some of their regular matchups are still on the schedule for 2008.
This year we will redirect some of our focus towards the Northern Sun conference as they have expanded and we willl to this league to represent Viking Land in the 2008 D-II playoffs.
Since the season is so new and expectations are low…I thought I would just highlight the Gophers for this weekend and see what trends may come after the full force opening of college football.
GAME OF INTEREST
University of Minnesota "Golden Gophers" (1-0) vs. Bowling Green State University “Falcons” (1-0) – 7:34pm Perry Stadium Bowling Green, OH
Radio: WCCO – 830AM
TV: ESPNU
The Golden Gophers started off on the right foot in 2008 but their unimpressive win will likely not uphold against the spark of Bowling Green. Bowling Green has built a lot of momentum with a big win over then ranked #25 Pitt Panthers. The Falcons connected with 9 different receivers last weekend with their leading receiver being RB Chris Bullock who was also their leading rusher. Bowling Green creating the upper hand in this game due to their plus 3 turnover ratio over Pitt.
