2008 Junior MVC Winter Program Information
The Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders will host a “partner dance” for the Junior Cheerleader winter program this year. First time ever and we are THRILLED!!!!
Every JR MVC will need to have their # 1 Fan along with them to perform during the Vikings VS. Falcons game in December.
How it works:
JR MVC are dancers ages 6 – 14 years of age that will perform pre-game during an upcoming Vikings home game in December with their partners – who could be anyone of their “fans” – Dad, grandpa, big brother, uncle, neighbor, etc. This “guy/girl” routine will be fun and EASY but very entertaining. And…………..some of those guys who have always wanted to be down on the Metrodome field – now have their chance!!!!
Rehearsals are Dec. 19 and 20.

The Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders Junior Cheerleader (JR MVC) program is designed specifically to promote self-esteem, pride, commitment and discipline among young women ages 6 - 14 years old. This program offers a rare and special opportunity to perform during a professional production in front of 64,000 Minnesota Vikings fans at the Metrodome. JR MVC will attend rehearsal sessions were they will learn a fun and easy partner routine from the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders. Junior MVC will participate in clinics taught by the team. No tryouts are required! This program is tailored to girls/and partners of all ages and ability levels.

NOTE: We changed our sizing to reflect slightly larger patterns for each size costume this year so that the girls don’t feel the costumes are “super tight.” Also, we changed from a dress option, as in years past to a leotard and skirt option now! This will hopefully allow for two years of comfortable wear and will accommodate for varying girth measurements between dancers. Plan to grow into it for the 2009 Programs!
2008 Junior Cheer Costume
Dads, brothers, uncles or #1 fans should be over the age of 16 years of age in order to partner with the JR MVC.
Their attire for game day will consist of jeans and a Vikings jersey. In order to keep costs down we are asking you to wear your own Vikings jersey – any color or style for the game. These are available online, at the Vikings Locker-room Stores and at other retailers. IT MUST BE A VIKINGS JERSEY.
DETAILS:
- Participants must be 5 - 14 years of age to participate. Different levels of participation are offered based on the age groups.
- Juniors must have turned 5 years of age by August 1, 2008!!!
- Sorry – we will not have an ANGEL program for the winter. Plan to join us in the summer – August 2009 though little ones!!!
- As a member of the JR Cheerleaders program you will receive 2 free game tickets (location of seats will be in the upper deck and assigned based on availability). All other game tickets much be purchased on your own through the ticket office. Ticket orders, for additional seats are due to the ticket office by Dec. 12th.
- Dec. 1st is the registration deadline! Don't delay!
Rehearsal Dates:
All rehearsals are mandatory for the performance! This includes your #1 fan/partner!
Friday, December 19 from 6:30 – 8:30 PM
Saturday, December 20 from 1 – 4 PM – Dress Rehearsal/Photo Day (We will take partner photos for keepsakes!)
There will be a pre-game rehearsal at the Dome on game day also! (See below.)
**In past years we offered rehearsals each day for only a few hours, but after many requests from parents to condense the schedule this year we lengthen a few rehearsal days and condensed the others to make planning and participation easier for EVERYONE! We have adjusted our registration process, our photo day and are sure you will LOVE the new format! Bring a friend! Since each JR will be attending with an adult partner – we will not do the wristband check in and out system in Dec. – FYI

*** Times, directions and further details regarding game day will be given out during the rehearsals. Plan to arrive at the Metrodome on game day at approx 8:30 am for a final pre-game rehearsal.
Participation Fee:
$199-295 - more details and inclusions listed on the registration form. A NEW costume will be offered in 2008! A new design is offered to the program every other season in an attempt to save money! A sibling discount is available. This discount offer is good for siblings only, not relatives, etc. See registration form for more pricing details.
MVC Junior Cheerleader Package includes:

Rules & Regulations
- No tryouts required!
- Bring a water bottle to practices. No food is allowed into the field house during rehearsals! Please eat before arriving.
- Register by Dec. 1st!
- No refunds on money, t-shirts, costumes, JR merchandise or alterations on sizing will be allowed.
- An adult must escort the JR as their dance partner and remain with them at rehearsals. Other parents/siblings, etc. will be asked to leave during actual rehearsal time. All practices are closed to the public.
- A full refund will be given to participants should the program fill and your registration not be accepted!! No refunds can be offered. A discount for future programs can be given, minus the hard cost of items ordered for the event.
2008 Junior Cheerleader Notes
* Registration Forms and Video orders can be mailed to the MVC JR Cheerleader address listed on the order form. You may order a video tape or DVD of the performance with the video order form. The video/DVD will be a game day performance video and we do not guarantee that every child will be filmed. (See registration form)
* A confirmation letter of your acceptance into the program (based on a first come, first serve policy) will be e-mailed out upon receipt of your registration. The final confirmation e-mail, to come out Dec. 12th, will include more detailed information and answers to your last minute questions.
* If you are traveling in from out of state, just a notice that there are many hotels in the surrounding area, especially off of the corner of Hwy. 100 and Int. 494. Make it a holiday vacation!
* Junior MVC Cheerleader merchandise will be available! The official Junior Cheerleader items including warm up suits, parent T-shirt, hair bows, backpacks, etc. are optional add-on items to your registration. Please see registration form for more details. Remaining inventory will be available during camp, but sizes and availability cannot be guaranteed.
* There will be a parent meeting to review and discuss the game day events and the activities for the week. This meeting will be held during rehearsal – please get details from the adult dance partner participating with your JR MVC.
* Print off the details on the website so you will have them for your reference.
