Alderman was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 1960 and joined the Vikings as a part of the expansion draft for the team’s inaugural season in 1961. He was a fixture on the offensive line during his tenure, missing only two games in the entire 13 seasons that he was a member of the team.

The Vikings targeted Willie Teal in the 1980 NFL Draft, moving up in the 2nd round to select him. He missed most of his rookie season due to injury but came back to lead the team in interceptions in 1981 and 1982. He was the only Viking defensive player to return an interception for a TD in 1984.

Tingelhoff signed with the Vikings as a free agent in 1962, taking over starting duties at center in the 2nd pre-season game and never relinquishing them until his retirement following the 1978 season. Voigt joined the Vikings as a 10th round draft selection in 1970 and served as the team’s starting tight end for much of the 1970’s. He scored a touchdown in the Vikings’ last Super Bowl Appearance (SB XI). Voigt had his best seasons with the Vikings in 1974-75 with a combined 631 yards and 9 TDs.

Though Walsh was a wide receiver by trade, he was most known for his epic play on special teams. He started his career in Buffalo but then played from 1994 through 2002 with the Vikings. The former standout from Stanford was arguably the top special teams player of his generation.

Acquired by the Vikings as a free agent in 1964, Warwick became a fixture at middle linebacker from 1965 to 1970. He was known for his prowess at defending against the pass and had a reputation as a fierce hitter. In addition to his 11 interceptions, Warwick also recovered six fumbles as a Viking.

The 8th overall selection in the 1967 NFL Draft by the Vikings, Washington provided the team with speed at the WR position his rookie season by averaging 29.5 yards per reception. Washington helped the team reach its first Super Bowl in the 1969 season, recording a team-high 39 receptions for 821 yards and 9 TDs.

West played the first six seasons of his NFL career with the Vikings after being taken in the second round of the 1968 NFL Draft out of UTEP. He played in Super Bowl IV as a Viking. West also still holds the UTEP career record of 19 interceptions, including a school record four in one game.

A veteran who will turn 38 during the 2010 season, Williams is one of the most dynamic players on the team and a vital part in the team’s defensive success. Wilson came to the Vikings as an 8th-round selection in the 1981 NFL Draft. He spent his first several seasons as a backup to Tommy Kramer before becoming a regular starter in 1987. He had his greatest success in 1988 when he led the team to an 11-5 regular season record.

Wright arrived at the Vikings via a trade from St. Louis in 1971. He became a full-time starter in 1973 and retained that role through the 1978 season. He only played in eleven games in 1979 due to injury – all as a backup – and still finished the season tied for the club lead with four interceptions.

Zimmerman played in 184 career NFL games, 108 of which were with the Vikings. He was a top offensive lineman on the 1987 team that marched all the way to the NFC Championship Game. Zimmerman was a dominant blocker over the span of 2 decades.
